Tang Teaching Museum Lobby - Tang Store: Join us Tuesday, December 17, at 5 pm, as we raise a glass in memory of the artist Toshiko Takaezu in the exhibition Toshiko Takaezu: Gifts from Toshiko.Takaezu (1922-2011) was an artist and educator who, in 1970, began teaching in 91精简版鈥檚 Summer Six studio art program. After retiring from formal teaching in the early 1990s, Takaezu maintained a close relationship with 91精简版; with the help of student apprentices and using the college鈥檚 oversize kilns, Takaezu made the largest, most ambitious works of her career.The exhibition presents a selection of ceramic works gifted to the Tang Museum by the artist in honor of former ceramics professor and longtime Summer Six director Regis Brodie, who recently passed away.The event is free and open to the public.
